Privacy Policy

Effective August 3, 2026 · Version 2026-08-03

MenuNearMe is designed for minimal data handling. We do not store full payment-card information or retain customer billing email addresses in restaurant records.

Information MenuNearMe handles

We process restaurant information supplied by an owner or authorized representative, including the restaurant name, address, telephone number, hours, descriptions, food categories, service details, menu images, links, and other page content. Published restaurant information is intentionally public.

Private operational records may include a one-way hash of the private update token, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status and trial dates, consent version and timestamp, draft/publish status, and technical timestamps.

A billing email entered for Checkout is transmitted to Stripe to establish billing. MenuNearMe receives it briefly as part of that request but does not retain it in restaurant records or saved browser drafts. Stripe independently retains and processes billing information under Stripe’s privacy practices.

Website-preview access email: When a restaurant representative requests a private website preview, the submitted email address is saved for access recovery, requested follow-up, and useful MenuNearMe feature updates. MenuNearMe does not sell email addresses or send unrelated spam. Recipients may opt out of optional updates at any time. Providing a phone number is optional.

Before July 31, 2026, MenuNearMe briefly offered an on-site launch notification form. An address submitted through that form is retained only to deliver the requested launch notice and will then be deleted. New notification requests open the visitor’s own email application and are sent directly to [email protected].

Browser drafts and technical information

The builder may store restaurant draft content and menu previews locally in the customer’s browser so work can continue after navigation or interruption. Billing email is removed before browser-draft storage. Customers can clear local browser storage through their browser controls or by using MenuNearMe’s fresh-start controls.

Our hosting, security, analytics, and delivery systems may process standard request information such as IP address, approximate country supplied by Cloudflare, browser type, timestamps, public page paths, referring website, video-play events, security events, and an anonymous browser identifier stored locally to distinguish new from returning visits. An introductory email may contain a small remote image unique to its private preview so MenuNearMe can record when that image is loaded. Image loading does not reliably prove that a person read the message because mail providers may block, cache, or preload images. These records help measure public-page use, deliver the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and protect accounts. The browser identifier does not contain a name or email. Private update tokens and private builder or owner-dashboard paths are excluded from MenuNearMe visitor analytics.

How information is used

Service providers and external links

MenuNearMe uses service providers including Stripe for Checkout, subscriptions, invoices, and billing portals; hosting and traffic-security providers; and QR, map, search, social, and delivery services when their features or links are used. Those providers process information under their own policies. MenuNearMe does not sell customer personal information.

Public content and search engines

Published restaurant pages and menu images may be viewed, cached, indexed, copied, or archived by search engines and other third parties. Removal from MenuNearMe does not guarantee immediate removal from third-party caches or indexes.

Retention and deletion

We retain active restaurant records while needed to provide the service. After verifying that a deletion request comes from an authorized restaurant representative, MenuNearMe ordinarily aims to unpublish the public page within two business days. Removal from active systems may take up to 30 days.

Deleted content may remain temporarily in restricted recovery storage or backups before routine deletion or expiration. Security logs, consent records, Stripe transaction references, and records reasonably needed for fraud prevention, accounting, disputes, or legal compliance may be retained longer. Stripe independently controls retention of Stripe billing records.

Search engines, map providers, web archives, browser caches, and other third parties may retain copies after MenuNearMe removes a page. MenuNearMe cannot control their deletion schedules. An authorized representative may send a request to [email protected] with the restaurant name and public page URL. Do not send card details.

Security and private links

MenuNearMe uses private update tokens, token hashing, restricted server storage, secure transport, and administrative access controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Customers must keep private update links confidential and notify us if a link may be compromised.

Choices and requests

Authorized restaurant representatives may request access, correction, deletion, or a replacement private link. Email recipients may use the email opt-out form to be added to our do-not-email list. We retain the email address on that suppression list so the opt-out can be honored. Some information may need to remain for billing, fraud prevention, legal, or security purposes. Billing information and subscription controls are available through Stripe’s Customer Portal.

Children

MenuNearMe is a business publishing service and is not directed to children under 13.

Policy changes and contact

We may update this policy as the platform changes. The effective date and version identify the applicable copy. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to [email protected].
